Meet Dr. Greta Binford!

Meet Dr. Greta Binford, Arachnologist, at the Carnegie Museum on Thursday, July 25 at 1 pm. After her presentation visitors will be encouraged to follow her to the Sugar Creek Nature Park to look for spiders.
A professor of Biology at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, Greta Binford specializes in Arachnology, the study of spiders. Greta graduated from North Montgomery High School in 1983, then obtained her B.A. from Miami University. She then received her M.S. from the University of Utah and her Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in 2000. Binford joined the Lewis & Clark’s biology faculty in 2003 and encourages her students to learn about themselves while studying other species and continuously engages her students in scientific inquiry. The Carnegie Museum is featuring Greta and her work in the museum during the 2013 season. The exhibit will focus on Greta, her general field of Biology, and her specific research on spiders. The book Silk & Venom highlights Greta’s research and her quest to learn more about spiders.
