Genealogy Classes

The Crawfordsville District Public Library is offering free, introductory genealogy classes. Registration begins Wednesday, March 20. To register for a class, visit the reference desk on the second floor of the library, or call (765)362-2242, ext. 100. No voice mail registrations accepted. Class sizes are limited to five participants per class to allow for personalized instruction. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Wait lists will be formed if classes fill. Genealogy classes are held in the 2nd floor computer area.

Introduction to Genealogy Research: Part A meets on Saturday, April 20, from 10:00-11:30 a.m.
*You must have completed Introduction to Computers Part A & B course or have some familiarity with using a computer, basic computer terminology, and using a mouse and a keyboard.
Participants will be introduced to:
-Ancestry.com
-Heritage Quest

Introduction to Genealogy Research: Part B is on Saturday, April 27, from 10:00-11:30 a.m.
*You must have completed Introduction to Genealogy Research: Part A and Introduction to Computers Part A & B course or have some familiarity with using a computer, basic computer terminology, and using a mouse and a keyboard.
Participants will be introduced to:
-CDPL print Local History resources
-CDPL Local History databases
-Microfilm/microfilm machines
