Have you ever tried Interlibrary Loan?
It's nice to be able to find in your library all the items you want to check out. But what if we don't have what you want? Well, then you should consider using our Interlibrary Loan service.
This is just another way that your library can serve you!
What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?
If the Crawfordsville District Public Library does not own the book, video, or article that you need, we can try to borrow it from another library through the Interlibrary Loan service.
Who can use the ILL service?
This service is offered to all patrons holding a valid library card from the Crawfordsville District Public Library (does not include RB cards). You must have no outstanding fees or overdue items. Patrons must be 18 or older to request an interlibrary loan. Those under 18 can also request an interlibrary loan if they have parental permission.
How long does it take to get an ILL?
Most loans can be received within 10-14 days. You will be informed as soon as possible if a loan can't be made for some reason.
How long can I keep ILL materials?
The average loan period is 2 weeks or longer, depending on the wishes of the loaning institution. The late fee for an ILL item is 50 cents per day.
What is the cost?
The service is free; this cost is underwritten by the Friends of the Library. If the lending library specifies that it requires costs for photocopies or mailing a particular requested item, patrons will be consulted before materials are borrowed.
What can I borrow?
You may request items not owned by the Crawfordsville District Public Library or items missing from the library's collection. You may not request items owned by the library.
What is my ILL limit?
You are limited to 10 requests at a time.
How do I make an ILL request?
•You can make a request at the Reference Desk in person or by phone (362-2242 ext. 117).
•You can e-mail our ILL staff: ill@cdpl.lib.in.us
•You can use FirstSearch on any computer in the library. Ask a librarian for assistance, if necessary.
