Purdue Extension agency: strength training sessions


The Purdue Extension agency is offering strength training sessions beginning Monday, April 2, from 11-12pm

The sessions  (total of 13 meetings) continue to meet

April 9

May 2
May 7
May 9
May 16

The cost is $10.00.

Participants are asked to bring dumbells or ankle and wrist weights they might have, otherwise some will be provided. They are also asked to dress comfortably for exersize; pants or shorts that allow for stretching and bending. Finally, they are asked to bring a waterbottle or a bottle that can be filled.

Classes last approximately 45-60 minutes. The routines begin with a 5 to 10-minute warmup that may include walking, marching, light calisthenics (such as toe touches). The resistance training exercises work all the major muscle groups, utilizing a combination of dumbbells, adjustable ankle weights, and body weight. Classes conclude with a 5 to 10-minute cooldown that includes upper and lower felxibility exercises.
