Knitting Classes

Do you want to learn how to knit? Sign up for our Beginning Knitters class! The class meets at 9 a.m. on February 9, 16, 23, and March 9. Cost is $5 per class and a one-time kit fee of $5, payable at registration.

Do you already know how to knit, but want to hone your skills? Join the Intermediate and Advanced Knitters class on February 10, 2-4 p.m., February 12, 5-7 p.m., February 19, 5-7 p.m., and February 24, 2-4 p.m. Each class is $5, payable to instructor Sandra Salazar.

Need a new hobby after football season is over? Learn the Manly Art of Aran Isle Knitting! Tell your story in a sweater that is yours alone in three class sessions that start the Sunday after the Super Bowl. Class is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.on February 17, March 3, and March 17, and costs $15, payable to instructor Sandra Salazar.

Free computer/genealogy classes

The Crawfordsville District Public Library is offering an assortment of free, introductory computer classes for adults who have little or no experience using a computer.

Adult learners will be introduced to computer basics using laptop computers with Windows 7 Microsoft operating systems. The laptops will be equipped with mice and keyboards.

Registration begins Tues., Jan. 29, 2013. To register for a class, visit the Reference desk on the second floor of the library, or call (765)362-2242, ext. 100. No voice mail registrations accepted. Class sizes are limited to five participants per class to allow for personalized instruction. Registration is on a first come first served basis. Wait lists will be formed if classes fill. Classes will be held in Room C in the lower level of the library. Genealogy classes held in the 2nd floor computer area.

Introduction to Computers: Part A
Wed., February 13 or February 27, 2013

Participants will be introduced to:
· The inside of a computer
· Basic computer terminology
· Microsoft operating systems

Gallery: Ageless Seniors Still Exploring

The Mary Bishop Memorial Gallery at the Crawfordsville District Public Library presents the extraordinary work of ten local artists in the multi medium exhibit Ageless Seniors Still Exploring.

A reception for the artists and friends will be held at the library on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 2 pm to 4 pm.

The Ageless Seniors artists are Linda Brady, Nell Rose Brown, Charles Delp, Terry Gowin, Linda Gowin, Lu Johnson, Kathleen Norton, John Oilar, Pat Paris and Pat Porterfield. 

The exhibit Ageless Seniors Still Exploring runs through February 11, 2013.

The Crawfordsville District Public Library is located at 205 S Washington Street in Crawfordsville and is open Monday through Thursday 9 am to 9 pm and Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm. The Mary Bishop Memorial Gallery is open during regular library hours. Admission is free.
